How to set up correctly meta viewport

If you set up the <meta name=”viewport”> parameter user-scalable=”no”, the browser zoom on the web page is disabled; concurrently, using maximum-scale the possibility to zoom is limited for the user.

Therefore, the incorrect use of these parameters can compromise the experience for people that use browser zoom.

How the SeoChecker browser zoom audit is displayed

When a page has the browser zooming disabled, SeoChecker will notify it.

This happens if the <meta name=”viewport”> has a content attribute with:

  • user-scalable=”no” parameter
  • maximum-scale parameter set to less than 5

How can I avoid disabling browser zoom?

Simply removing the user-scalable=”no” parameter and setting up the maximum-scale to 5 or more than 5.
